Practice Areas

Tara focuses on the representation of emerging growth companies throughout their life cycles – including corporate formation, venture capital financings, corporate spinouts, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets transactions. In addition, she represents private equity firms, venture capital firms and angel investors in investment transactions and portfolio company-related matters. Tara is counsel to companies and their investors in a broad range of industries, such as artificial intelligence, agtech, consumer goods, cleantech, digital health, edtech, enterprise software, fintech, insurtech and spacetech.

Prior to her legal career, Tara worked as a strategy consultant for Monitor Deloitte, where she focused on long-term scenario planning. Tara also was a fellow with Kiva Microfunds in Ecuador and Kenya.

* Rebel Girls on its $8 million Series A financing led by Penguin Random House

* BlueCross BlueShield Venture Partners on its lead investment in Humata Health’s $25 million Series A financing

* Haun Ventures on its lead investment in Neynar’s $11 million Series A financing

* GroundTruth on its acquisition of Addy, an advertising platform

* Singularity Education Group on its sale of certain assets to Talespin, a spatial computing company

* General Catalyst on its investment in Anthropic’s $30 billion Series G financing, which valued the company at $380 billion post‑money
