Stella Kammitsi is a qualified lawyer, member of the Cyprus Bar Association since 1992. She has her own law firm, and she is also the owner and Managing Director of a corporate fiduciary service provider company, Raza Corporate Services Ltd, which is regulated by the Cyprus Bar Association. Her areas of expertise are mainly Corporate, Banking, Trust and Estate Succession Planning and Commercial Law. She started her career in 1992 at the law firm of Chryssafinis and Polyviou LLC (the oldest and one of the largest firms in Cyprus) by initially being extensively involved in litigation matters and then being the Head of the International Corporate Department of the firm. She has also been for years the legal adviser of an international banking unit in Cyprus and of other international companies based in Cyprus.

She is member to the boards of various companies and associations including, inter alia, Chairwoman to the board of STEP Cyprus and one of the Deputy Chairperson of the STEP Europe Region, Vice-President to the Board of BPW Cyprus and Chairperson of the Standing committee for Legislation of BPW International. She has also been the ex-Chairwoman and ex Vice-Chairwoman at the Housing Finance Corporation in Cyprus (appointed by the Council of Ministers) and ex-President of the Cyprus Women’s Lobby

She is a lecturer at the International University of Monaco and has been a lecturer for Business Law and Banking Law in several universities and colleges in Cyprus.

She is participating in various local and international conferences as a speaker and is also co-organizing, amongst others, international conferences in Cyprus with STEP Cyprus and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Stella has obtained her Law Degree (LLB (Honours)) from the University of Leicester in 1990 and her LLM in International Banking Law from Boston University, School of Law in 1991. She has been for five consecutive years from 2015 to 2018 on the IFC Powerwomen Top 200 list of Citywealth.

Her areas of expertise are mainly Corporate, Banking, Trust and Estate Succession Planning, Commercial Law and Mergers and Acquisitions. She has been involved in major corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance (including syndicated loans). She started her career in 1992 by initially being extensively involved in litigation matters and then being the Head of the International Corporate Department of the firm Chryssafinis & Polyviou LLC. She has been for years the legal adviser of an international banking unit in Cyprus and of other international group of companies based in Cyprus. During the last decade she also specializes in local in international trusts and succession planning matters.

Professional Memberships

Stella Kammitsi is a STEP member and Chairwoman of STEP Cyprus and Deputy Chairwoman of STEP Europe.

She is also the Vice-Chairwoman of BPW Cyprus and President of the Standing Committee for Legislation of BPW International.

Furthermore she is a member of TIAETL (The International Academy of Estate and Trust Law) and of ITPA (the International Tax Planning Association).

Publications

Stella Kammitsi is the author of the chapter on "Forced heirship: the "firewall legislation" for the book "Trust Laws in Cyprus" published by Globe Law and Business in 2023.

She has written a similar article at "Trusts & Trustees | Oxford Academic" publications.
