Practice Areas
Artemis Amalia Metaxa is an Associate Partner in the firm’s Corporate and Commercial Department. She advises on the full spectrum of corporate and commercial law matters, with particular expertise in private acquisitions, joint ventures, and complex corporate restructurings.
Amalia has acted on some of the most significant and high-impact cross-border M&A transactions in Cyprus. Her experience includes advising the ARI group on its acquisition of the companies operating the retail and F&B businesses at Larnaca and Pafos International Airports; Delivery Hero on multiple acquisitions of food-delivery platforms; and Ascendis Health, a South African multinational healthcare company, on its acquisition of leading Cypriot pharmaceutical manufacturer Remedica.
In addition to her corporate and M&A work, Amalia regularly advises domestic and international financial institutions on high-value secured financing transactions involving Cypriot corporate obligors.
Amalia also maintains a strong focus on anti-money laundering compliance. As a member of the Cyprus Bar Association’s Private Companies’ Committee (2014–2017), she took part in the public consultation process for the transposition of the 4th EU AML Directive into Cypriot law. She has since authored the Cypriot chapters of several cross-European surveys on the implementation of EU AML Directives and frequently advises clients on AML regulatory matters.
Beyond her legal practice, Amalia holds several leadership roles in international legal and professional networks. She serves as the Leader of the Emerging Leaders Group (Europe Region) and sits on the European Regional Council of World Services Group (WSG), a leading international professional services network. She is an active member of AIJA, the International Association of Young Lawyers, currently serving as the appointed Local Representative for Cyprus. She also serves as the inaugural Editor-in-Chief for Cyprus of international legal publication The Legal Industry Reviews.
