Sonia Baldia brings business and technology savvy to her global practice, which encompasses U.S. and international commercial, transactional, and intellectual property (IP) expertise across multiple industries including life sciences, banking and finance, healthcare, energy, retail, information technology (IT), manufacturing, and software. She advises on a wide array of strategic sourcing (BPO, ITO, ADM, ERP), technology, cloud, supply chain, R&D, go-to-market, and other commercial transactions and helps companies navigate legal issues raised by data, emerging technologies, and digital transformation, both on the buyer and provider side. She assists clients with structuring and establishing global service delivery models, including offshore technology and software development captives, and all phases of the transaction lifecycle, from strategic planning and RFPs to structuring, negotiating and implementing complex sourcing arrangements and governance structures. Sonia is a dually qualified lawyer with bar admissions in the US and India, and is also a registered patent attorney in both the US and India, which unique credentials she leverages to advise clients on US-India cross border matters, and on IP strategy, management, and monetization. Her deep domain expertise in commercial, technology and IP law areas, combined with over 20 years of private practice, public sector and academia experience, enable Sonia to provide business-focused creative solutions to legal issues.
