Sophie Mathur

Sophie leads the firm’s Corporate practice across Asia and has over 20 years of experience in cross-border corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, takeovers and joint ventures across Southeast Asia. Sophie has specialist expertise in the financial services, consumer and technology sectors and is well-known for her pivotal role in deals with a strong Singapore nexus.

Sophie is a unique M&A lawyer, well-known for her pivotal role in major acquisitions across an array of sectors and leading deals in the region. She combines being Singapore and English-qualified, a proven track record of working on deals with a strong Asia nexus, and the commercial and transactional ability and cultural sensitivity to deal effectively with various stakeholders, regulators across the region and international clients.

Sophie’s market stature is reflected in her being appointed on the Corporate Law Advisory Board of Singapore, an advisory panel established by the Singapore Accounting and Company Regulatory Authority, to advise it on corporate law. She is also on the Advisory Board of the Singapore Management University’s Yong Pung How School of Law which features a diverse array of leading legal practitioners from all sectors of the industry.
