Simon specialises in non-contentious trust work, and is perceived by his peers as a leader in this field. He principally advises corporate fiduciaries in relation to the establishment and ongoing operation of trusts and other wealth management structures.
Career
With other 30 years experience of working in the law, Simon advises leading local fiduciary companies on all aspects of Guernsey trusts and issues relating to their underlying corporate structures. He is also an expert on the customary law of Guernsey.
He is regarded by his peers as a leader in his field, having been called to the Guernsey Bar in 1988. He is a Lieutenant Bailiff (part-time judge of the Royal Court), a Deputy Judge of the Magistrates Court and a member of the Legislation Review Panel (which is responsible for approving all draft legislation passed in Guernsey prior to its submission to the legislature for approval). He has previously been Vice Chairman of the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, Deputy Batonnier (Deputy Chair) of the Guernsey Bar and President of the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce.
