Silvia Paternain heads the tax practice group in Spain. She specializes in corporate cross-border transactions and structured finance. Her client base includes all major investment banks and financial institutions, as well as corporates and real estate funds. She is the relationship partner of the largest real estate investment firm in Spain, Azora, which she has advised throughout its business life. As well as the major international investment banks her clients include Hochtief AG, Cepsa (IPIC), China Tianying, CPPIB, Fresenius and its subsidiary Helios Kliniken, Barclays Bank and Hispania Activos Inmobiliarios. She advised Azora and Hispania Activos Inmobiliarios on the €2.3bn takeover bid launched by Blackstone over Hispania, and Hochtief AG on its joint takeover of Abertis Infraestructuras.
