Treasury Counsel Monitoree since 2021, winner of the Halsbury Rule of Law Award (Lexis Nexis) in 2019 for her work for the United Nations related to the Syrian Conflict, Serena is highly regarded as both leading counsel and as a led junior. Her practice in the UK focuses on murder, terrorism and sexual offences. She also has extensive expertise in war crimes and international criminal law and has spent several periods in her career capacity building in conflict and post conflict justice systems on behalf of international organisations. Serena has been described as having an ‘impressive forensic approach’, being an ‘extremely effective advocate’ and as having ‘extraordinary intelligence and judgment.’
