Sebastian Guțiu is the office managing partner of Schoenherr Romania. He heads the firm's Romanian real estate and constructions practice and its dispute resolution practice, including litigation & arbitration, insolvency & restructuring, and white collar crime & criminal defence. Sebastian has advised on some of the largest real estate transactions in the local market, assisting clients such as the largest oil & gas company in the region, major retailers, real estate developers and investors, or manufacturing companies. He has led teams in high-profile litigation and arbitration cases, including administrative contentious, post-privatisation disputes, and construction litigation. A recognised arbitration lawyer, he has advised on international investment arbitration (including several ICSID cases), international commercial arbitration (ICC, VIAC, LCIA), as well as domestic arbitration. As of 1 July 2024, he has been appointed as alternate ICC court member for Romania for the 2024-27 term. In recent years, Sebastian has also contributed to the development of Schoenherr's defence practice across CEE.
