Crime
Rose has a varied and successful Crown Court practice, with considerable experience appearing for both Prosecution and Defence in complex trials covering a full range of serious offences, including murder. She has been repeatedly instructed as both leading and led junior for the Crown in multi-handed organised crime cases involving large scale drug trafficking. She is currently instructed as leading counsel in an 8 handed multi-million-pound Class A cocaine importation case involving an organised crime group operating out of the UK with ties to the Caribbean. She has demonstrated an impressive ability for handling sensitive counter terrorism briefs.
Rose also has a growing appellant practice before the Court of Appeal and was recently instructed as junior counsel for the Appellant in the high-profile case of Oliver Campbell - a historic miscarriage of justice murder appeal resulting in the brain-damaged Appellant’s conviction being quashed and no retrial ordered. Following specialist training, Rose has demonstrated an aptitude for dealing with vulnerable defendants and witnesses.
Rose is also an academic widely published in the fields of domestic and regional human rights and constitutional law, topics on which she has lectured at Ivy League universities, been interviewed on national radio and participated in a Parliamentary debate. Most significantly, Rose co-authored a book on European Human Rights Law with Professors Greer and Gerards: ‘Human Rights in the Council of Europe and European Union: Achievements Trends and Challenges’, Cambridge Studies in Law and Policy (Cambridge University Press, 2018).
