Rony Zimerman

Career

Rony Zimerman leads the Natural Resources and Mining area of Lembeye . Rony has a dual qualification as a lawyer, in Canada and Chile, and has a highly international practice, representing both multinationals and startups in their investments in natural resources other investments in Chile. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree at McGill University in Montreal, Canada and studied Law at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law. After practicing at a major firm in Vancouver, Canada for several years, work brought Rony to Chile, where he obtained his Chilean law degree. Rony principally advises foreign and domestic investors in matters of natural resources and mining, as well as in corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions diverse sectors such as health, real estate and retail.

Mr. Zimerman was a partner at Santiago firm Bofill, Mir & Álvarez Jana for 15 years. Previously he worked in the corporate and securities area of Lang Michener (McMillan) in Vancouver. He chaired the Energy and Natural Resources Committee (International Section) of the American Bar Association, and is a member of the Association of Explorers and Developers of Canada, the International Bar Association (IBA) Energy, Environment, Natural Resources and Infrastructure section and the Foundation for Natural Resources and Energy Law. In addition, he has been a visiting professor at Universidad de Chile’s Business Law LL.M. Program and taught courses on cross border transactions at the Law School of the Universidad Católica in Santiago.
