Career
Founding partner of Lembeye Abogados in 2017, Jorge Lembeye leads the firm’s mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, financing, project restructuring and capital markets areas. With extensive and prestigious commercial experience, Jorge has been involved in the structuring and placement of highly sophisticated funds, and in mergers and acquisitions and the financing related to the investments made by said funds. In addition, he is a recognized lawyer in the Energy area, where he highlights his vast experience advising national and foreign investors in the financing of large-scale and innovative projects. Additionally, Jorge is a member of the boards of several companies, which allows him to advise his clients from a legal and commercial point of view.
Lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso and Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, USA, before founding Lembeye Abogados Jorge was a partner at Bofill, Mir & Álvarez Jana; associate at Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP, New York, and associate at Morales & Besa. He was Professor of Civil and Commercial Law at the Adolfo Ibáñez University; Professor of Financing in the Master of Private Law at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso and Professor of American Business Law in the joint program of the University of Chile and the American University (USA).
He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the International Bar Association (IBA).
