Roger is a partner in the charities and philanthropy team at Withers where he specialises in all aspects of charity law. He advises charities, foundations and non-profits on governance, fundraising, regulatory issues, tax, restructuring and all other aspects of charity law. He advises on regulatory engagement with the Charity Commission and HMRC and has particular expertise helping charities which support the NHS and charities operating internationally as well as working on complex charity restructurings. He gives wide-ranging advice on personal philanthropy and specialises in advising family foundations. His clients include household name operational charities, grant-making foundations, individual philanthropists, corporate donors, fundraising organisations and non-profits.

Roger studied Modern History at Lincoln College, Oxford and has completed the Legal Practice Course at BPP, London.
