Rodolfo Islas holds a Law degree from the Faculty of Law at the Universidad Autónoma de México, graduating in 2005 with a thesis entitled "The Preclusion of the Right to File a Complaint; Its Study is Essential and Official for the Public Prosecutor's Office." He has a specialization in Criminal Law from the Graduate Studies Unit of the same faculty and a Master's degree in Criminal Procedural Law awarded by INDEPAC. Islas has demonstrated a strong commitment to his professional and academic development.

Throughout his career, he has participated in numerous courses and conferences, both nationally and internationally, addressing key issues in criminal law and the new criminal justice system in Mexico. He has obtained relevant certifications from the Latin American Bar Association, as well as from the Barra Mexicana Colegio de Abogados A.C., excelling in oral criminal litigation and interrogation techniques under the National Code of Criminal Procedure of Mexico. Since 2007, he has been an active member of the Barra Mexicana Colegio de Abogados A.C. , where he has held significant roles, including former Coordinator of the Young Lawyers Commission and former Coordinator of the Criminal Law Commission. He also served as Coordinator of the Criminal Commission of the Ilustre y Nacional Colegio de Abogados, A.C. from 2023 to March 2025.

Islas is a full professor of Criminal Procedural Law at Universidad Anáhuac, where his dedication to teaching has contributed to the training of new generations of lawyers. He was also a member of the Council for the Implementation of the Criminal Justice System in the Federal District, now Mexico City, actively participating in the transformation of the Mexican legal system.

Rodolfo has been awarded the National Pro Bono Award in 2017 and 2020. He currently serves as a Counselor for the Fundación Barra Mexicana, A.C. (FBM), having held this position at various times, including from December 2018 to March 2021, in 2022, and again since February 2025. He is the Technical Secretary of the Defense of the Barra Mexicana Colegio de Abogados A.C., and has participated as a panelist in various forums.
