Clients rely on Rob’s advice on a wide range of debt financing transactions. His experience includes representing major financial institutions and borrowers in investment grade credit facilities, cash flow and asset-based secured syndicated credit facilities, mid-market credit facilities, and emerging capital/venture capital (EC/VC) credit facilities, as well as representing sponsors and non-bank lenders in private equity and sponsored finance credit facilities. Rob has extensive experience representing lenders and borrowers in structured finance warehouse facilities, and issuers and placement agents in securitizations. Rob has also advised clients on bespoke debt offerings, including cryptocurrency-backed high-yield bonds, commercial paper issuances, and joint venture investment programs.
Rob also advises clients in the developing field of cryptocurrency and digital assets, including the use of such assets in the context of secured bond offerings and other secured credit facilities. He has extensive experience in advising clients on third party agreements covering various aspects of digital asset custody. Rob is involved in efforts toward commercial law reform as applied to cryptocurrency and digital assets, serving on multiple working groups for the Uniform Law Commission/American Law Institute Joint Task Force on the Uniform Commercial Code and Emerging Technologies Committee. In connection with his work on the UCC committee and in advising clients, Rob has extensive knowledge of non-uniform, state-specific UCC digital asset provisions that have been enacted or are in the process of being enacted in states such as Wyoming, Texas and Nevada.
Prior to joining CROKE FAIRCHILD DUARTE & BERES, Rob was Debt Finance counsel at WilmerHale and a Global Finance associate at Sidley Austin.
