Ricardo is a partner in the Corporate and Mergers and Acquisitions Department of the firm and co-leads the Tax Department.
Ricardo represents and advises both local and international clients on a wide range of matters. These include merger and acquisition transactions, corporate and commercial law, as well as antitrust and consumer protection matters.
While working as a full-time legal assistant at Alfaro Ferrer & Ramirez, Ricardo attended Santa María la Antigua University, where he graduated with honors (cum laude) in 2007.
Subsequently, he pursued further studies at the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., where he obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) with a concentration in Securities and Financial Regulation in 2008.
After completing his LL.M., Ricardo worked at Fox Horan & Camerini in New York. There, he handled corporate and commercial transactions, supporting clients interested in Latin American business ventures. In 2009, he joined Alfaro Ferrer & Ramirez as an associate attorney and was promoted to partner in 2018.

- Experian Latam Holdings Unlimited acquisition of a majority stake in APC BURÓ, S.A. the sole credit bureau in Panama.
- Corporación Multi-Inversiones acquisition of a majority stake in Productos Toledano, S.A., a leading company in poultry products in Panama.
- Banco Aliado, S.A. acquisition of Banco Panama, S.A. through a merger with Allied Pacific Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Banco Aliado, and Grupo Centenario de Inversiones, S.A., sole shareholder of Banco Panama. The transaction amounted to approximately US$210 million.
- Negotiation and acquisition by Global Bank Corporation of 99,972% of the issued and outstanding shares of Banco Panameño de la Vivienda S.A. (Banvivienda). The Financing agreements were also part of the deal, totaling approximately US$245 million.
- Assisted a family group in the acquisition and sale of Clinicas y Hospitales, S.A., the company operating Centro Médico Paitilla, a leading private hospital in Panama, to Hospiten Panama, S.A.
- Southern Cross Group, a private equity firm, in its acquisition and sale of a majority stake in Supermercados Xtra, S.A., the third largest supermarket chain in Panama.
- Acted as local counsel to Amplifon S.p.A., a global leader in hearing solutions and services, in the closing of the multijurisdictional acquisition of GAES Group from the Gassó family and other minority shareholders. The acquisition amounted to approximately US$616 million.
- Acted as local counsel to Yara Internacional ASA in the acquisition of OFD Holding Inc. from Omimex Resources Inc. for US$425 million.
- Sodexo Pass International acquisition of Sistemas de Incentivos Empresariales, S.A. (Vale Panama).
