Rebecca Mitchell

Rebecca is a skilled and experienced advocate specialising in family law. She appears at all level of court representing parents, grandparents, children, guardians, the Official Solicitor and local authorities. Rebecca has particular experience with vulnerable clients or those who find court proceedings particularly difficult or stressful. She is often instructed in cases involving complex fact-finding and where there are serious allegations of harm to a child. She has extensive experience of challenging expert medical and forensic evidence.

Rebecca regularly appears in public law cases concerning children. She can advise and assist on the instruction of experts and challenging expert evidence in court. She has experience of complex care planning and the scrutiny of Local Authority conduct. She is familiar with assisting vulnerable witnesses including children give evidence in court. Rebecca regularly appears in cases involving adoption and cases with an international element.

Rebecca has extensive experience of private Law proceedings regarding children. She has appeared at all levels of court including the Court of Appeal. She regularly appears in complex cases involving fact- finding, child arrangement orders, applications for leave to remove from the jurisdiction, internal relocation, applications for prohibited steps and specific issue orders.
