Rebecca’s practice is cross-border and cross-discipline. She specialises in all areas of corporate crime and wrongdoing as well as financial, environmental, and professional regulation. She both defends and prosecutes. She advises and acts on behalf of corporates, high net worth individuals, in-house and City solicitors in areas such as compliance, Insolvency, corporate governance, business investigations, dispute resolution, fraud, restraint, Freezing Orders, Norwich Pharmacal Orders, Deferred Prosecution Agreements, and private prosecutions. She was until her appointment as KC, Standing Counsel to the Department for Business (BEIS) and the Insolvency Service and advised that department on their most complicated issues of policy and their prosecutions. She was The Times Lawyer of the Week in April 2022 for her successful prosecution of Boris Becker. She has a vast experience of all matters relating to Insolvency (civil and criminal), Director’s Disqualification and the Companies Act. She regularly advises and acts for individuals and companies in such matters. Rebecca is well known for her expertise in all matters connected to disclosure (criminal & civil matters). She co-authored with Brian Altman KC the independent review into the co lapse of the SFO case R v Woods & Marshall (SERCO). She regularly advises on complex matters regarding LPP in both the civil and criminal jurisdictions. She was included in The Lawyer’s Hot 100 list for 2023. She is a member of the LexisNexis Corporate Crime Consulting Editorial Board.
