Mr. Rafael Lacaz Amaral is a lawyer and Senior Partner of the firm. He is also the coordinator of the firm’s Anti-piracy & Compliance (AP&C) team, with special focus on the software and entertainment industries (music, video, and pictures), helping clients to recover unpaid royalties and to sell licenses.

He has a Law degree (2000) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), a post-graduate degree in Intellectual Property (2002) from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), and a post-graduate degree in Civil Procedural Law (2009) from Candido Mendes University (UCAM). He speaks Portuguese, English, and French.

Board member of the Brazilian Association of Intellectual Property - ABPI (since 2008); Arbiter for domain name disputes at the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Brazilian Association of Intellectual Property - CSD-ABPI and a registered Court Expert in IP matters at the State Courts in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
