Rachel Hyndman

Rachel is a partner in Debenhams Ottaway’s Wills, trusts and probate team with over 15 years’ experience advising individuals, families, business owners, elderly clients and high net worth clients on a wide range of private client matters. Her work includes Wills, probate, tax planning, estate administration, trusts and care for the elderly, and she also leads the firm’s Court of Protection team.

She regularly supports clients at important and often sensitive stages in their lives, from planning for the future and protecting family wealth to dealing with the practical and emotional challenges that can arise after someone has died or when a loved one loses capacity. Rachel advises on matters ranging from small estates to large and complex estates, as well as deeds of variation, lifetime trusts, lasting powers of attorney and deputyship work.

Rachel is known for her approachable, efficient and pragmatic style. She explains complex legal issues in clear, plain English and focuses on providing practical advice that gives clients confidence and reassurance.

Rachel started her training contract with Debenhams Ottaway in 2006 and qualified as a solicitor in 2008, becoming a partner in 2020.
