Claire Sharp

Claire is a partner in Debenhams Ottaway’s Wills, trusts and probate team, advising individuals and families on private wealth, estate planning and succession matters.

Her expertise spans trusts, Wills, probate, tax planning and estate administration, with particular experience in complex trust and tax matters.

She takes time to understand each client’s priorities, helping them protect assets, plan ahead and preserve wealth for the next generation.

Her estate work ranges from straightforward administration to complex matters involving overseas assets, business or agricultural property, taxable estates, HMRC negotiations and potential disputes.

Trusts are a particular focus. Claire advises on lifetime trusts and Will trusts, including their drafting, establishment and management, and is appointed as trustee on many of the trusts she manages.

She also advises on lasting powers of attorney, supporting elderly clients and their families with care and sensitivity.
