Practice Areas
Rachel is best known for taking a lead role in representing some of Australia’s leading organisations in high-profile disputes brought on by highly unionised workforces.
A strategic thinker, Rachel is often called upon to provide business-critical employment law counselling to major Australian and multinational companies. She works closely with large organisations, in relation to both blue-collar and white-collar workforces, to find solutions that meet their strategic aims whilst minimising their employment law risks.
Recently, Rachel assisted a large corporate client navigate a difficult change management process, which included defending litigation by unions; securing a termination of protected industrial action by the Fair Work Commission on safety grounds; and successfully pursued former employees for breaches of post-employment obligations.
Rachel has completed courses in strategy, management and negotiation at Harvard University.
Career
With 25 years' experience working with leading employers, Rachel is sought out by employers in professional and corporate services, labour hire, transportation, maritime, tourism and pharmaceutical industries to address complex industrial relations matters, resolve contentious disputes and enterprise bargaining, and assist in closing out difficult employee issues such as complaints, claims and contested terminations.
