Michael acts for many of Australia’s leading employers and is a trusted advisor on workforce strategy development and high-stakes contentious matters. Michael advises clients on all facets of industrial and employment law, including bargaining, industrial action and general protections, executive recruitment, remuneration and termination issues and discrimination matters. Michael is noted for his strength in the workplace strategy development arena and his particular expertise in employment restraints.

Career

Michael has been a lawyer for more than 20 years and he has assisted leading employers in an array of matters, including:

• advising a number of ASX20 companies on how to solve major commercial challenges

• successfully defending major claims worth hundreds of millions of dollars

• executing wholesale workforce restructures

• establishing new businesses

• implementing new enterprise agreements, and

• enforcing and defending restraints of trade.

Michael has completed executive education courses in leadership and strategy at Harvard University in Boston and has an Executive MBA from the exclusive INSEAD University in Paris.
