Career
Paulo Piza has been a partner of Ernesto Tzirulnik Advocacia since 1991. He has successfully handled highly complex litigations both in Brazil and abroad, and is widely recognized for his legal opinions and for his strategic and distinctive approach to insurance and reinsurance matters and regulatory issues. He is also especially dedicated to torts and contractual liability, as well as the transportation of goods. Mr. Piza has participated in arbitration proceedings and frequently serves as an expert in Brazilian law in depositions. He holds a Law degree from the University of São Paulo (USP), where he also earned a Master’s degree in International Law and a PhD in Law. In addition, he obtained an MBA in Financial and Actuarial Risk Management from the University of São Paulo’s School of Economics. Mr. Piza is a founding member and current Vice President of the Brazilian Institute of Insurance Law – IBDS. He has published numerous articles and essays in specialized journals and frequently lectures on Insurance and Reinsurance Law.
