Head of the firm’s Tax Advice Group and leads the firm’s Pro Bono practice.

His practice focuses on corporate tax issues, including corporate reorganizations. He has important experience advising both domestic and foreign entities and individuals, with a great grasp of VAT, real estate law, estate planning, and family matters, leading those areas of expertise.

Mr. Humphreys also has relevant experience as lecturer and chair in several graduate and postgraduate programmes. Speaker and moderator in tax and private client venues, in Chile and abroad.

Currently, partner at Garnham Abogados, for the past 10 years.

Previously, private practice between 2003 and 2013.

Experience

Besides his professional experience, Mr Humphreys acts as chair for the Master Programme in Taxation at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez School of Law, where he also teaches the course Introduction to Tax Law; and (ii) lecturer for several programmes at the same School of Law, on VAT, digital services tax, and non-profit entities’ taxation, and lecturer Double Taxation Treaties Course for the International Taxation Master Programme at Universidad de Lima (Peru).

Previously, he taught the Tax Law course at Universidad Diego Portales Law School, between 2014 and 2018.
