Palesa is a competition law specialist advising on all aspects of competition law, including mergers and acquisitions, prohibited practices, as well as competition compliance.

Palesa has acted for clients in a variety of industries including pharmaceutical, telecoms, energy, financial services, property, and transport and logistics. Her experience includes advising clients on competition law in various African jurisdictions, and in particular multi-jurisdictional mergers.

Palesa also has specialised experience in market inquiries by the South African Competition Commission, and has advised clients in inquires into online intermediation platforms, fresh produce, and media and digital platforms.

Career

Palesa joined MGI Competition Law in November 2025 ad a director. Prior to this she was at ENSafrica, where she completed her articles and worked as an associate before leaving in April 2021. Thereafter she joined Fasken where she was promoted to Partner in January 2025.

Palesa has been recognised by recognised by Legal500 (2024) and Best Lawyers (2025, 2026).
