Okan counsels and represents market leading companies for the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights. He has achieved notable resolutions and results in the patent litigation, technology licensing and transactional IP. Okan has represented a leading market players in an extensive project for licensing the Standard Essential Patents (SEPs) for optical disc technology in Turkey, represented a multinational chemical firm in complex multi-jurisdictional IP conflict during which achieved one of the highest compensation for an IP conflict in Turkey, represented a multinational tobacco firm during the acquisition of the IP assets of Turkish State Monopoly for Tobacco.
Okan also leads nationwide trademarks and patent enforcement programs at the Turkish borders in conjunction with licensing programs.
In 2016, Okan was invited by the Turkish PTO for joining the commission established for the preparation of the New Turkish IP Code (2017) and contributed the new legislation.
Okan is a member of Istanbul Bar Association and he is also qualified as chartered trademark and patent attorney and European patent attorney. He is member of AIPPI and a member of the Anti-Counterfeiting Committee of INTA.
