Norm represents the largest and most sophisticated private fund sponsors in the world on complying with the constantly changing regulatory environment in the United States and other countries. All types of fund sponsors seek out Norm’s advice because he can bring to bear his perspective as an experienced law firm partner, former regulator and a former partner of a hedge fund manager. Norm’s wide-ranging practice includes forming new advisers, counseling on fundraising, advising on portfolio company transactions, assisting with asset management deals and defending numerous SEC examinations and enforcement actions. His practice and the deep team he works with give him unparalleled insight into how fund sponsors are addressing regulatory issues.

Previously, Norm was the director of the Division of Investment Management at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Prior to that he was the Deputy Director and Associate Regional Director in New York of the SEC’s Office of Compliance, Inspections and Examinations (OCIE). In these capacities he supervised SEC examinations of investment advisers and other market participants. Before joining the SEC, Norm was Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Chilton Investment Company, an adviser to hedge funds.
