Neil Fineberg is a founding partner of the IP boutique Fineberg Ramamoorthy LLP based in Toronto, Canada. He practises in patent law, particularly in the pharmaceutical space. His experience includes litigation in the Federal Courts of Canada and the provision of legal and regulatory advice pertaining to, e.g., the PM(NOC) Regulations, the PMPRB and Health Canada.
Neil has also been a registered patent agent since 2004 and holds an honours degree in chemistry/human biology.
Neil has been practising IP law for 20 years, focusing primarily on pharmaceutical patent litigation. Neil has appeared before the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal and was counsel of record in one matter before the Supreme Court. His practice includes invalidity and infringement opinions and advising on a variety of regulatory and administrative law matters. Neil has had experience with every aspect of the process of bringing new pharmaceutical products to the Canadian market, including NOA preparation, complying with the requirements of the Patented Medicines Prices Review Board, patent litigation and the pursuit of section 8 damages. Neil is part of several committees at IPIC and has been on the editorial board of the Canadian Intellectual Property Review for several years.
