Practice Areas
Myfanwy’s practice covers a wide range of accident claims including road traffic accidents and accidents at work involving complex or serious injury; often life-changing brain or spinal injuries, fatalities or amputations. Where economic for the client she represents victims of criminal injury in applications to the Criminal Injuries Authority. Myfanwy has a particular interest in post traumatic stress disorder.
She often takes over cases from other solicitors which require swift assessment, investigation and conclusion.
Career
After training, qualifying (1988) and practicing for a year at Lawrence Tucketts (now TLT) Myfanwy joined Russell Jones and Walker to specialise in Claimant personal injury claims where she was made a partner and conducted claims predominantly for trade union members and police officers. Reluctant to leave Bristol on the closure of the Bristol office she joined Barcan+Kirby (then Barcan Woodward) in 2004 and is currently a Senior Associate. Myfanwy also sits as an Assistant Coroner in the Avon Coroner’s Court.

Personal
Achieving early access to rehabilitation for her clients to accelerate early recovery is a priority. She is experienced in establishing the provision of complex care packages to promote the best possible recovery and to alleviate pressure on family members. She believes that having a good understanding of her clients, their needs and their goals is the key to securing the best results for them. She is sensitive to the life-changing impact of injuries on individuals and their families and feels privileged to be their champion.
Myfanwy is a keen walker with friends and family when time allows and runs on a “fair weather” basis. She is a film addict and regularly haunts Bristol’s Watershed. She loves good cooking - especially when prepared for her by others!
