Since qualifying in 1999 Jay has practiced exclusively in claimant clinical negligence. She has over 20 years experience and deals with a wide range of medical negligence claims including birth injury and obstetric claims, brain injuries as a result of meningitis/sepsis in children and adults and spinal injury cases against hospitals, GPs and other health professionals.
Career
Jay was admitted to the roll of solicitors in England and Wales in January 1999. On qualification Jay worked in claimant clinical negligence, initially at Parlett Kent (a niche Chambers tier 1 claimant clinical negligence practice). She was promoted to Partner in 2005. Following closure of Parlett Kent in 2013, she joined Barcan Woodward (now Barcan+Kirby).
Jay received the Law Society’s Specialist Clinical Negligence accreditation in 2007 and has been an accredited member since that time. Jay has also been on AvMA’s specialist clinical negligence panel since 2011.
