Misabel Abreu Machado Derzi is one of the firm’s founding partners and a renowned academic. Misabel has a strong, decisive presence arguing cases before the Supreme Court and the Superior Court of Justice, as well as before the Administrative Tax Court of Appeals. She was the president of the Comissão de Simplificação da Legislação Tributária do Estado de Minas Gerais (Comission for the Simplification of the Tax Legislation of the State of Minas Gerais), which was instituted by the government in 2015.

Career: She was the Attorney General of the State of Minas Gerais, Public Prosecutor of the municipality of Belo Horizonte.

Education: She holds an LLB (1969), and a PhD from the University of Minas Gerais.
