André Mendes Moreira is a senior partner at the firm. Having an outstanding academic background, André is a Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais and holds Habilitation, Post-PhD and PhD titles from the University of São Paulo. He’s the author of three important books in the tax field which are frequently quoted by Supreme Court and Superior Court of Justice rulings’.

Having unique, nationwide tax litigation and consultancy experience, André has acted in every single state of Brazil with a variety of issues concerning direct and indirect taxes.

He has assisted renowned domestic-based and multinational companies with high complexity issues across the country and worked in leading tax law cases before the Administrative Courts (at state and federal levels) as well as before the Brazilian Supreme Court and the Superior Federal Court of Justice. André’s practice has a broad scope in the whole country, but he is particularly experienced in the telecommunications, energy, food/beverage and mining sectors.

Education: LLB (2002) and LLM (2005) from the University of Minas Gerais; PhD (2009), Post-PhD (2019) and Habilitation (2022) from the University of São Paulo.
