Michelle Rose

Michelle leads VWV's Private Client department and takes a leading role in the Contentious Trusts and Probate team based in Bristol. This specialist team works with clients facing disputes arising out of wills, probate and trusts. With many years of litigation experience, Michelle is recognised as one of the leading individuals in this area of law, and is noted for her commercial and strategic awareness and her ability to tailor the right team and strategy for each client.

Michelle also works alongside VWV's Charities team and Estates, Tax and Trusts team, advising national charities and higher education institutions on protecting legacies due to them, and defending contested legacies for national charities and other non-profit organisations.

Michelle qualified as a solicitor at VWV in 1995 and has led the Private Client department since 2007.

Michelle was one of the first regional members of the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS).

Michelle is the author of an article in the Trust Quarterly Review titled "To remove or not to remove," on the law relating to the court's removal of executors and trustees, drawing on her experience of executor removals; she has also lectured on the subject. A version of the article also appeared in the ACTAPS Journal.
