Fiona Lawrence

Fiona is a Partner in VWV's Contentious Probate and Trusts team, a specialist in her field with over 20 years' experience dealing with a broad range of inheritance, Will disputes and trust disputes. Her clients range from private individuals, including executors, administrators and beneficiaries, to professional trustees and executors.

Fiona frequently acts as a Court-appointed Independent Administrator in contested estates, which often requires her to take firm, decisive action to resolve the deadlock in the estate and bring the estate administration to a conclusion. Fiona also takes on trustee appointments.

She is experienced in contested Court of Protection matters, regularly advising on attorneys acting in breach of duty and financial abuse of vulnerable people.

Fiona also advises national charities, higher education institutions and universities on protecting legacies due to them.

She is committed to achieving the most favourable outcome for clients, sees litigation as a last resort, and is experienced in achieving out-of-court settlements through mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Fiona has been at VWV since 2002.

Fiona is a committee member of the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS).
