Michael is active in constitutional law as well as in public building, planning and environmental law, in tax law as well as in municipal and municipal economic law.
Michael studied law and political science at the University of Freiburg. He is a certified administrative law attorney. Michael has been a partner at Gleiss Lutz since 1986 and provided advisory services as Of Counsel from 2017 to 2025.
He was a long-standing member of the Constitutional Law Committee of the German Federal Bar Association (BRAK) until 2024. He is a member of the Society for Environmental Law and the "Road Law" working committee of the Road and Transportation Research Association. Michael Uechtritz is also a member of the advisory board of the journal baurecht and co-editor of the Beck online commentary on the Federal Building Code (BauGB) and the State Building Code (LBO) BW as well as the large commentary on administrative procedural law published by Nomos Verlag. He is editor and author of commentaries on administrative procedure and construction law.
