Michael is a partner in the family team with particular expertise in high net worth divorce/Schedule 1 claims and complex disputes involving children, including child relocation, abduction and claims of alienation. He regularly acts for high profile individuals, sports personalities and international families with multi-jurisdictional interests.
He is a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL) and works closely with offshore lawyers and fiduciaries in respect of financial planning (pre- and postnuptial agreements) and divorce. Michael has a growing practice and expertise relating to the expat communities in the UAE, Oman and Bahrain.
Michael has acted on significant reported cases, including: M v F (high value Schedule I proceedings); BJ v MJ (dealing with overseas trusts); P v P (appeal regarding division of ownership in offshore company); and Hvorostovsky v Hvorostovsky (high profile variation of maintenance).
He has a deep understanding of the impact of addiction, behavioural and psychiatric issues on family breakdown and he collaborates with experts in those fields to support his clients.
