Michael is considered to be the foremost contentious IP practitioner in Wales. He specialises in contentious IP matters, and has led cases covering all aspects of IP in IPEC, the High Court, the Court of Appeal, UK IPO, EUIPO and EPO.
In the past year Michael has acted for the Welsh Government in complex copyright related proceedings in multiple jurisdictions including in the case of Haydn Price v The Registrar of Companies and the Welsh Ministers reported at the end of last year  1 WLR 299.
Whilst he practices across all industry sectors, he has conducted particularly high profile and/or complex cases within the retail, automotive, manufacturing, engineering and life science sectors and in the public sector. Key clients include Mountain Warehouse, Hoover, Gocompare, the Welsh Government and Pendragon Motor Group (t/a Evans Halshaw)
Michael is also an experienced transactional IP lawyer, and sits on the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys, Design and Copyright Working Group.
