Michael Hornreich focuses his practice on complex construction law and construction litigation matters, representing owners, contractors, and design professionals in high-stakes disputes across the country. An experienced trial lawyer, Michael tried three federal court construction cases in the past year and is known for experienced handling of technically sophisticated construction matters.
Before entering the practice of law, Michael worked as a civil engineer and participated in the design and construction of major environmental facilities. Michael's technical background continues to shape his approach to solving disputes, allowing him to quickly assess complex design and construction issues and evaluate damages, and develop practical, strategic solutions for clients facing significant exposure.
Over the course of his career, Michael has represented clients on hospitals, stadiums, convention centers, hotels, power plants, aerospace launch facilities, wastewater treatment plants, seaports, refineries, wetland restorations, performing arts theaters and amphitheaters, high-rise condominiums, airports, baggage handling systems, roads, bridges and rail transportation projects, and manufacturing facilities.
Upon request, Michael serves as an arbitrator and mediator of construction disputes, as well as testifying as an attorney’s fees expert. Michael serves on the Florida Bar’s Construction Certification Exam Committee and contributes exam questions as well as review applications for certification.
