For nearly 35 years, John Bonnie has been a trusted advisor to insurers navigating complex claims, coverage disputes, and high-stakes litigation and arbitration across the U.S. and internationally. His practice is devoted exclusively to counseling insurance providers and organizations that assume and manage risk, earning him a national reputation for strategic, thoughtful, and effective advocacy in the insurance coverage space. John represents many of the world’s largest insurers, with experience spanning numerous lines of first- and third-party coverage. He frequently serves as national coordinating counsel in multi-district and class action litigation, bringing a disciplined, professional approach to every engagement.

A cornerstone of John’s practice is ensuring both robust client advocacy and uncompromising professionalism in the practice of law. He holds national leadership roles, including current roles on the Board of Regents and Executive Committee of the American College of Coverage Counsel. In 2025, he concluded a six-year term in leadership roles with the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association’s Section of Litigation, culminating in his service as Committee co-chair from 2022 to 2025.

John is co-author of the treatise Georgia Insurance Litigation, now in its 8th edition, and is a frequent speaker and author on emerging coverage issues and legal developments. His insights continue to shape the national dialogue on insurance law.
