Highly versatile litigator with a national practice in product liability, mass torts, and class actions. Handles complex commercial, constitutional, and administrative law disputes at both the trial and appellate levels. Has unparalleled experience defending government cost-recovery lawsuits stemming from alleged mass and toxic torts and public harms. Represents major international and Canadian clients across industries including technology, pharmaceuticals, mining, and consumer goods. Has acted in more than 130 trials, appeals, and major hearings, including two of the longest trials in Canadian history and more than 30 Supreme Court of Canada appeals. Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and Litigation Counsel of America. Member of the International Association of Defense Counsel. Serves on the Supreme Court Advocacy Institute’s National Advisory Committee. Appointed King’s Counsel in 2018—one of the very youngest appointees in British Columbia’s history. Recognized by Canadian Lawyer as one of Canada’s Top 25 Most Influential in 2019. Included by Benchmark Litigation on its Top 50 Trial Lawyers in Canada list for many years.
