With well over a decade of experience, Meriam has established herself as one of the world’s foremost international arbitration and human rights practitioners, serving as lead counsel on an impressively diverse portfolio, including growing a group with extensive experience in Business and Human Rights. Shortly after her arrival to Eversheds Sutherland in March 2020, Meriam helped form one of the world’s largest full-service International Arbitration groups and was quickly elected Global Co-Chair of the practice and Co-Chair of the Latin America Arbitration Group. As Global Co-Chair, Meriam leads with a commitment to fostering diversity, social advocacy, gender equality and racial equality, and openly advocates on all available platforms for changing the official rules of all International Arbitration Institutions to make inclusion of women on every arbitral panel mandatory.
