Ms. Meghna Mishra is a Senior Partner at Bahuguna Law Associates and brings over 25 years of experience in dispute resolution. She regularly represents clients before the Supreme Court of India, various various High Courts, the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), and specialised forums in complex and high-value disputes. Her practice spans commercial and contractual disputes, real estate and property litigation, inheritance and notable matters, as well as matrimonial and family disputes. In addition to her litigation practice, she advises clients on intellectual property matters, including the protection and enforcement of trademarks and copyrights.

Ms. Mishra advises a diverse range of clients, including leading corporates, real estate developers, financial institutions, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals. She is recognised for her strategic approach to dispute resolution, practical legal advice, and strong understanding of commercial considerations. Her experience extends to handling complex litigation, providing risk-mitigation advice, and developing effective legal strategies, making her a trusted advisor for clients across a wide range of contentious and regulatory matters.

Ms. Meghna Mishra has been consistently ranked by Chambers & Partners Asia-Pacific for Dispute Resolution since 2022, recognising her expertise in high-value litigation and arbitration. She was honoured as 'Lawyer of the Year - Female (Dispute Resolution)' by the Indian National Bar Association (INBA) in 2024 and was featured among 'The Titans of the Bar' by BW Legal World in 2024. She has also been recognised as a Leading Lawyer for Dispute Resolution (Arbitration & Litigation) in the Legal Era Leading Lawyers India Rankings 2024–25. She was also additionally recognised in the DIGITAL Legal Leadership Honour Roll at the India Law, AI & Tech Summit 2025 by OakBridge Publishing. She has further been recognised under the 'Women in Law' category at the ACoS Annual Meet and International Summit 2024 and was featured in 'The Phenomenal She', a coffee table book celebrating 100 accomplished women across diverse fields. Earlier in her career, Ms. Mishra was consistently recognised by Lawyer's World Premier 500 in 2015, 2016, and 2017, receiving the Commercial Litigation Lawyer of the Year and Dispute Resolution Lawyer of the Year awards in 2017. She was also recognised as an Asialaw Market-Leading Lawyer in 2017.

Ms. Mishra is the founder and trustee of SSMF trust, which was founded in 2019 and works in the area of inclusivity, mainly focusing on differently abled persons.

Advised and successfully represented Asset Reconstruction Company (India) Limited (ARCIL) in initiating insolvency proceedings against Parsvnath Developers Limited before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Delhi. The admission of the insolvency proceedings was subsequently upheld by the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) and the Supreme Court of India.

In parallel, Bahuguna Law Associates successfully defended proceedings initiated by Parsvnath Developers Limited before the Delhi High Court, wherein the company challenged the revival of the insolvency proceedings and sought to restrain ARCIL from exercising its rights under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.

Advised and represented Beacon Trusteeship Limited in a Section 7 insolvency petition against Arcturus Developers Private Limited, a sister concern of Vatika Limited, concerning the status of optionally convertible debentures following issuance of a conversion notice. Successfully contended that the debentures continued to constitute “financial debt” under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, as no effective steps had been taken to convert them into equity. Further established that, upon issuance of the Put Option Notice, the Corporate Debtor’s liability to redeem the debentures and pay the outstanding dues crystallised. The concurrent findings of the NCLT and NCLAT were upheld by the Supreme Court.

Advised and represented IDBI Trusteeship Services Limited, acting on behalf of Indiabulls High Yield Fund and Indiabulls India Opportunities Fund, in a Section 7 insolvency petition against Vatika Limited, successfully securing admission of the Corporate Debtor into the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) in relation to ‘Project Aspirations’. Established the existence of financial debt and default notwithstanding part-payments made by the Corporate Debtor during the pendency of the Section 7 petition, following expiry of the debentures’ tenure.

Advised and represented RattanIndia Power Limited in proceedings concerning enforcement of an arbitral award after the award holder had lodged its claim in the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP), involving complex questions on the interplay between the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 and the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, including the applicability of the “clean slate” doctrine and whether liability could be extended to non-signatories in execution proceedings. Successfully established before the Delhi High Court that once a claim is lodged under the IBC framework, parallel execution proceedings cannot be maintained. The judgment has since emerged as an important precedent on the interplay between insolvency proceedings and enforcement of arbitral awards and was upheld by the Supreme Court.
