Maura received her Law Degree (J.D.), with highest honours, from Università degli Studi di Genova in 1993 and a Ph.D. in Constitutional Judicial Review from Università degli Studi di Pisa in 1996; she joined the Milan Bar Association in 1997. In 1998 she was Visiting Foreign Lawyer in the Middleton Potts’ office in London.
