Matthew Cunningham

A partner in the firm’s finance group, Matt specialises in corporate finance, real estate, property and construction finance, agribusiness finance and acquisition finance.

Matt's clients include some of Australia's major lenders, arrangers and underwriters, and leading corporates.

Matt has particular expertise in corporate finance transactions, acting for and advising lender and borrower clients across the manufacturing, metals, building products, telecommunications, media, leisure, health and transport sectors. He has acted in numerous secured, unsecured, syndicated, club and bilateral corporate finance transactions, both cross-border and domestic.

Matt also specialises in real estate, property and construction transactions, including commercial real estate acquisition and project-style construction facilities for commercial developments, mixed use developments, and residential projects.

Matt regularly advises on financings of agribusiness enterprises that operate in Australia agriculture of all kinds including grains, cotton, wool, dairy and sugar. Matt also advises on acquisition finance, particularly financing the acquisition of energy and resources, industrial, media and pharmaceutical corporations.

Matt lectures in the Law of Banking for the Bachelor of Laws course at the University of New South Wales.
