Matthew specialises in business and property work. He has a client base across the country and covers all aspects of Business and Property work, including commercial litigation, chancery, real property, trusts and others.

Matthew sits as a Deputy District Judge (civil) (authorised for Business & Property work).

Matthew is also a Civil Mediation Council Registered Mediator.

For many years, Matthew has been appointed to the Attorney General’s Civil Panel of Junior Counsel. He is currently on the “B” Panel and accepts instructions in areas such as director’s disqualification, contentious probate, commercial litigation and others.

Before joining Chambers, Matthew worked as a Fox Scholar in a leading commercial litigation firm in Toronto, Canada named Lenczner Slaght LLP.

Matthew has been awarded the Queen Mother’s Scholarship, Pegasus Scholarship and Harold G Fox Scholarship.

Matthew has also significant experience in human rights litigation and advisory work for businesses, states, claimants and defendants. He has particular experience of defending public bodies against human rights claims. Internationally, Matthew has worked on cases involving matters in Bangladesh, Cuba, Libya, Ukraine and Uganda and others.
