Career
A dual-licensed civil law-common law international attorney and arbitrator with over 20 years of experience, Martin Gusy’s practice offers a unique insight into the multiple verticals of international arbitration, especially in the energy, finance, infrastructure and technology sectors.
As chair of Bracewell’s international arbitration practice, Martin counseled and served parties in both headline-making disputes as well as even more confidential matters from which trends and noteworthy developments arise.
Martin has served as sole arbitrator, president of the tribunal and party-appointed arbitrator in more than three dozen ICC, AAA/ICDR, UNCITRAL and ad hoc arbitrations, also involving sovereigns.
Professional Memberships
An author of “A Guide to the ICDR International Arbitration Rules” published with Oxford University Press and an Editor of the Transatlantic Law Journal, Martin serves on the AAA’s Publications and Large Commercial Cases Committees as well as ICC Commission Task Forces and the Executive Committee and Global Advisory Board of the New York International Arbitration Center (NYIAC). He has been a member of the AAA/ICDR International Roster of Arbitrators and Mediators since 2010.
