Career

Mark is joint national head of the Freeths Private Client Services Team. He has over 25 years of post-qualification experience of dealing with contentious trust and probate disputes and professional negligence claims. He also qualified as a commercial mediator in 2010 and has conducted over 500 mediations.

Mark has experience of successfully handling High Court, County Court and Tribunal litigation. He is a recognised leader in his area and as a qualified mediator, he has a proven track record of resolving complex trust and probate disputes.

At the British Wills and Probate Awards 2024 Mark won Contentious trusts and Estates Litigator of the year.

Mark is listed as a Leading Individual for Trusts Mediation in Chambers HNW (2024), Leading Individual in the Legal 500 (2024)and Legal 500 Hall of Fame for Contentious Trusts and Probate. The Hall of Fame highlights individuals who have received constant praise by their clients for continued excellence.

Mark is also regularly appointed as a replacement administrator/trustee in estates and trusts where there has been or continues to be a dispute and a trusted professional is needed to deal with the estate.

Professional Memberships

Mark is a longstanding member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (“ACTAPS”) and sits on the ACTAPS organising committee. He is also an affiliate member of STEP, holding the STEP Advanced Certificate in Trusts Disputes.
