Marisol Ellis has over thirty years of experience, with a practice focused on Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution. She joined Icaza, González-Ruiz & Alemán in 2004 and was named partner in 2022. Throughout her career, she has advised prominent Panamanian and international companies in complex contentious matters.
She has extensive experience in arbitration and litigation and has also developed a strong academic profile. Marisol has taught International Law, Commercial Law, Banking Law, and Insolvency Proceedings at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has participated as a speaker and panelist at arbitration and litigation conferences in Panama and abroad. She has also been appointed as an expert in Panamanian law in international arbitration proceedings.
Marisol is a member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration representing Panama, having served from July 2021 to June 2024 and been reappointed for the July 2024–June 2027 term. She is also an arbitrator of the Center for Conciliation and Arbitration of Panama (CeCAP) and the Conflict Resolution Center of Panama (CESCON).
Marisol is a member of the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation (DRBF), the National Bar Association of Panama, and the Spanish and Ibero-American Arbitration Club (CEIA).
