Career
Gabriela Tejada de Britton heads the firm’s Intellectual Property practice and advises local and multinational companies on the protection, management, and enforcement of their intellectual property rights in Panama. Her practice covers trademark and patent prosecution, trademark enforcement, opposition and cancellation proceedings, copyright matters, licensing, and franchising.
She manages significant trademark portfolios across a broad range of industries, including beauty and personal care, pharmaceuticals, automotive, retail, luxury goods, food and beverages, financial services, and entertainment.
Gabriela has been actively involved in the development of Panama’s intellectual property framework. She has worked alongside relevant authorities in the review and development of key intellectual property legislation and regulations, including Industrial Property Law No. 35 of 1996, Law No. 61 of 2012, and Executive Decree No. 85 of 2017.
She has been a member of the Board of the Panamanian Intellectual Property Association since 2001 and served as its President from 2020 to 2022.
